
What is nephrology?
Nephrology is the study of kidney disease:
the kidney filters wastes and unwanted chemicals.
The kidney is also essential in regulating blood pressure, red cells and bone health.
Common kidney conditions include
- Haematuria – blood in the urine
- Proteinuria – protein in the urine
- Kidney impairment – acute/sudden or chronic/slow (chronic kidney disease)
- High blood pressure
- Anaemia
- High Potassium

- Hypertension

- Cysts in the kidneys
- Reflux nephropathy
